Read More: Antrel Rolle (S - NYG), New York Giants, San Francisco 49ers
Guarantees in sports rarely turn out well, and athletes have figured this out. They're generally smart enough not to use the words "I guarantee", but what New York Giants safety Antrel Rolle said on Monday is about as close as a player can come to making a guarantee without flat-out saying it. The San Francisco 49ers are very slight favorites at home in the NFC Championship Game, but Rolle sounds extremely confident that his side would prevail.
We're not going to be denied at this point. We understand what we have as a team. It's not all about talent. It's about chemistry. We're gelling at this point. Coaches and players are on the same page at the same time. We have one goal in mind, which is to win the championship.
This is certainly more confident than arrogant, and the kind of thing that Giants fans will like hearing from their players ahead of the game.
