Read More: Atlanta Falcons, New York Giants
The 2012 NFL playoffs schedule has been set and the Atlanta Falcons will go on the road to beat the New York Giants. The Falcons are one of the most balanced teams in the league ranking seventh offensively and 18th defensively. They can run the ball well and stop the run. It's a good formula as they enter the playoffs.
SB Nation's The Falcoholic previews their Falcons before Wildcard weekend and notes that they're built well for a playoff run.
On the positive side of the ledger as we head into the post-season, the Falcons have some very dynamic elements in their offense. Julio Jones is becoming an elite wide receiver before our very eyes, and Ryan has been slinging it better and better as the year goes on. The team is capable of stopping the run, they're capable of forcing turnovers and they have one of the better cover corners in the league in Brent Grimes. Teams that can't score points in bunches will struggle to beat them.
The Falcons are going to be a tough out. They don't have any glaring weaknesses and they can play good defense. The Giants have had their struggles and inconsistencies but when they're on they're one of the better teams in the league so at first glance this might be the most even matchup on Wildcard weekend.
