Steve Spagnuolo Fired As St. Louis Rams Head Coach

As everyone expected, the St. Louis Rams have fired Steve Spagnuolo as head coach, Jay Glazer reports. The Rams were one of the most disappointing teams in the league this year and Spagnuolo has been considered a dead man walking for some time. Spagnuolo's time in St. Louis will be marked by a lot of losses and only a little bit of hope.

The Rams won just one game in Spagnuolo's first season which lead to them drafting Sam Bradford with the first overall pick. They showed promise the following season winning seven games and setting the stage for a playoff run in 2011.

The only problem? The Rams stunk it up this year. They finished 2-14 this year which ultimately cost Spagnuolo his job.

The remaining question is whether GM Billy Devaney will follow him out the door. ESPN's Chris Mortensen reported on Sunday that Devaney was expected to be fired as well.

The Rams' job should be a good one as they have a young quarterback, lots of cap space and the No. 2 pick in the 2012 NFL draft.
