Indianpolis Colts' owner Jim Irsay tweeted on Saturday afternoon that his team will have a new head coach by mid to late next week.

Indianapolis has expressed interest in a number of candidates, including former Minnesota Vikings head coach Brad Childress. A report surfaced this week that even Jim Tressel, who was hired to be a game day consultant with the Colts this season, may be a candidate for the job.

In addition to Childress, a couple current coordinators have been targeted in the process. The Tennessee Titans granted the Colts permission to speak with defensive coordinator Jerry Gray, which would also satisfy the league's Rooney Rule. The Saints' offensive coordinator Pete Carmichael is a another name being discussed as a potential head coach in Indy.

On Tuesday, the Colts fired Jim Caldwell after this year's disastrous 2-14 season. According to Irsay, it won't be long before we find out his successor.
