After a spectacular touchdown by Torrey Smith, rookie from Maryland, another Terrapins rookie gave the Baltimore Ravens a huge lift when LaQuan Williams, a special teams, um, specialist, stripped Danny Woodhead on the kickoff return, giving the Ravens the ball already in field goal range.
The Ravens were set up to score again, especially after Joe Flacco ran for a first down, but a James Ihedigbo sack meant they would only manage a field goal attempt, which Billy Cundiff put through to give his team a 20-16 lead, a huge shift in momentum after the Patriots had been slicing and dicing the Ravens defense into the red zone on seemingly every drive, though they stalled close to the end zone three times.
