Rob Gronkowski Injures Left Ankle, Leaves AFC Championship Game

New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski has had what is pretty inarguably the greatest year an NFL tight end has every had. He set a record for regular season touchdowns with 16, and caught three more in their first playoff game last week. This week, against the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC Championship Game, hasn't gone nearly as well, and he's in the locker room after suffering a pretty gruesome ankle injury.

Apologies for anyone with a weak stomach, because this isn't the most pleasant of .gifs.

He was moving pretty well on his way to the locker room, but, at last check, that's where he remains. We'll update you on his condition whenever we know more.

Edit: Gronkowski was back in the game on Tom Brady's fourth down touchdown dive.
