Brandon Spikes Intercepts Joe Flacco, Turns Momentum Again

After ceding another touchdown to Tom Brady and the New England Patriots, and now down 23-20 in the fourth quarter, the Baltimore Ravens wanted to respond with a score of their own to retake the lead. That didn't happen, it turns out. After a nice running start for the drive, Joe Flacco made an ill-advised throw, and it was intercepted by linebacker Brandon Spikes over the middle.

The drive started on the back of Ricky Williams, who had two outstanding runs for first downs to get things going. Once Ray Rice came back in the game, not much changed. The offensive line and fullback Vonta Leach, who is deservedly on another Pro Bowl team this year, completely dominated the point of attack, but it was all for naught once Flacco tried to do too much.
