Joe Flacco's interception to Brandon Spikes gave momentum to the New England Patriots in the 2012 AFC Championship Game. The ridiculous interception on the very next play gave the Ravens all of that momentum back — and then some.
Tom Brady fired deep on a rare bomb in this game, and was rewarded with his second interception of the day, on a fantastic bit of teamwork by Bernard Pollard and Jimmy Smith.
Pollard turned himself just enough to get a hand on the ball, and Smith, a rookie, snagged the ball while it was mere inches off the ground, taking care to pull it in and roll over to preserve the catch.
Better yet, he had the presence of mind to get up and run after the pick, and gave the Ravens decent field position as a result.
Brady has led the Patriots up and down the field for much of the day, but has two interceptions and no passing touchdowns in the game.
