The New England Patriots had a chance to put away the Baltimore Ravens for good in the 2012 AFC Championship Game after a failed fourth down attempt. But they couldn't do it, and instead gave Joe Flacco a chance to send a game that is currently 23-20 in the Patriots' favor to overtime — or win it outright in regulation.
After BenJarvus Green-Ellis took a sweep left to get the Patriots a third and four near midfield, Tom Brady looked left and then threw right to Aaron Hernandez, who ran a short curl near the first-down marker. But good coverage by Ed Reed forced an incompletion, which both short-circuited the Patriots drive and stopped the clock.
