Kyle Williams didn't have a great day. At some point, he'll probably end up in a bar with Ravens kicker Billy Cundiff, commiserating and wondering what could've been after championship game failures of massive proportions. It was Williams who lost control of the ball during a punt return in overtime, coughing the ball up and setting the New York Giants up for the game-winning field goal.
And Anthony Davis sure didn't look happy with Williams.

In all seriousness, it was a mistake, and a tough one to swallow for Niners fans. Take it easy on the kid. It's still just football and he's still human.

So this comment on the Examiner right after he was drafted is creepy...
“Get ready to have your hearts in your throat whenever Williams is on the field, Niner fans. This dude is so unpredictable and takes crazy chances with the ball. He lacks concentration and drops and fumbles more passes and punt returns in important situations than anyone I’ve ever seen. In fact his very last play of his ASU career was a fumbled punt return in the biggest game of the year vs our rival Univ of AZ. The score was tied just a minute or so on the clock. U of A was punting. Everyone’s thinking o.t.. All he had to do was catch the ball and take a knee or run it a few yards. But no, he wanted to be a hero and already had his mind running up the field before he even caught the ball. It went right through his hands, bounced off his leg and U of A recovered it. They went on to score a FG. Game & season over! Fans left stunned! Williams is very inconsistent. It doesn’t matter if he runs a 4 flat you got to have the ball in your hands first! He can go from hero to zero in 4.3 too.”

I remember that game very well
As an ASU fan, I was very angry. He was balling before that too with some huge catches.

Someone has to teach him....
how to hold the football. He was holding it away from his body like he had a clear path to the endzone. Aaron Ross is a bad football player but you have to applaud the Giants – he had clear instructions to go down on kick returns when it looked like the play would end rather than take a shot and risk having the ball pop out.

Seriously. How is Aaron Ross a "bad player"?
Started 15 of 16 games for Super Bowl-bound team logging 60 tackles and 4 INTs.

Ross is definitely mistake prone
He’s incredibly inconsistent, and as a Giants fan, I was terrified to see him return punts. That being said, I wouldn’t call him a bad player. Usually he’s pretty solid.

Kyle B. (for Buckner) Williams

Earth to Brian: it wasn’t “a” mistake, it was two colossal blunders, the first of which cost them the victory in regulation, and the second that led to the easy field goal by Tynes. Add to that zero catches and a near fumble on a reverse in the first half, and you get the picture of a mentally spastic numnut who singlehandedly ruined a splendid team effort.
