Immediately after Baltimore Ravens kicker Billy Cundiff shanked what would have been a game-tying field goal in the 2012 AFC Championship Game on Sunday, my immediate reaction (and I can only assume, the immediate reaction of a million other football fans) was to say, "A Ray Finkle special!" Less than 24 hours later, some brave souls have taken to YouTube and taken the Finkel comparisons to their logical conclusion.
"Ace Ventura: Pet Detective" may be dated and strange now, a sort of prototype for overplayed 1990s memes that are now a parody of themselves a la Austin Powers and the like, but if nothing else, the franchise has given sports fans "Ray Finkle." There will never exist a more perfect term for a crucial shanked field goal.

Wasn't Dan the holder for Finkle?
That’s why he had all those “Die Dan” and “Laces out Dan” stuff on his wall. It’s not the same to have Brady there.

When you extrapolate, this video is suggesting Billy Cundiff will retire to become a transgendered police detective in Miami, and you’re quibbling over the choice of hate figure.

I fully expect that to happen. I would hate to be Edgar, Allen, or Poe for the next few years.
