Chuck Pagano Looks Forward To 'Great Opportunity' With Colts

Stay connected with SB Nation

The Indianapolis Colts officially announced the hiring of Chuck Pagano as their new head coach. Pagano is coming from the Baltimore Ravens where he was last the defensive coordinator. The Ravens website quoted Pagano on his way out as saying:

"It's difficult to leave the Ravens but I couldn't pass up on this great opportunity," Pagano said. "I'm just thrilled and so excited."

And this opportunity could be a great one. Pagano's choices at quarterback are likely to come down to Peyton Manning or Andrew Luck, depending on how that situation unfolds. It's a quarterback-driven league and, as the Colts learned with Peyton Manning, you tend to win a lot of games with a great quarterback. If Luck ends up being as good as NFL personnel people say he is then Pagano may have walked into a great opportunity.
