Troy Polamalu and Brian Dawkins are expected to find a way to play for their teams in the AFC Wild Card, but both players missed practice on Wednesday. Pittsburgh Steelers safety Polamalu is dealing with a calf injury, while Denver Broncos safety Dawkins has a neck injury. Steelers' defensive end Brett Kiesel also had to sit out, while Broncos linebacker Von Miller participated in practice in full with a thumb injury,

The Steelers are already without free safety Ryan Clark, who is unable to play at Mile High because of a sickle cell trait. Losing both starting safeties would be devastating for Pittsburgh, but Polamalu is expected to start.
