Bengals Vs. Texans, NFL Playoffs 2012: Picks And Predictions Mixed

Stay connected with SB Nation

The playoff matchup between the Cincinnati Bengals and the Houston Texans is a divisive one. Though the Texans are the third seed and the Bengals the sixth, there isn't much separation between the two teams. The Texans have been holding on to a weak division since starting quarterback Matt Schaub went down, while the Bengals play in arguably the best division in football.

Sports Illustrated's Peter King is picking the Texans to win by two points. He says that the quarterback duel between rookies T.J. Yates and Andy Dalton is too close to call with their current fitness concerns. Therefore, he's giving the tiebreaker to the Texans on the basis of the superiority of their two-headed rushing attack of Arian Foster and Ben Tate.

Experts at other outlets are also divided. NFL experts from both CBS and Yahoo! were split on the game, though both outlets slightly leaned towards the Bengals.
