Ray Horton Will Interview For St. Louis Rams Head Coaching Job

The St. Louis Rams coaching search has been highlighted by Jeff Fisher but there are other candidates in the mix for the job. ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that the Rams have requested and received permission to speak with Ray Horton, the Arizona Cardinals defensive coordinator.

The Rams job is viewed as an attractive one because St. Louis has plenty of cap space, a future franchise quarterback in Sam Bradford and the No. 2 overall pick in the draft. Offensively, Josh McDaniels is still on the Rams staff so he could potentially stay depending on who comes in.

Horton is the Cardinals defensive coordinator, his first year in that role. He was named to the defensive coordinator post in February and the Cards had an improving season. They were ranked 30th in scoring last year and 17th this year.
