Owen Daniels Injury: Texans TE May Have Hurt Hand In Bengals Game

Stay connected with SB Nation

The Houston Texans dominated the Cincinnati Bengals in the AFC's Wild Card game on Saturday but they didn't come out of the game completely unscathed. Tight end Owen Daniels is undergoing x-rays on what the Houston Chronicle has called a possible broken hand.

Daniels hurt the hand on the first half play that Marvin Lewis and the Bengals challenged.

In the play in question, Daniels made a key third down reception for the first down but the Bengals defender appeared to also have his hand on it at the same time. The officials ultimately ruled that it was a catch (tie goes to the offense) but a hand injury does make some sense after that play because he was wrestling for control of the ball.

Daniels is obviously a key part of the Texans offense and has nearly 700 yards on the season. Losing him would be a blow any way you cut it so we'll be paying attention to the latest updates on Daniels' status.
