Falcons Vs. Giants: Matt Ryan Goes One-For-Three, Can't Get A First Down

Stay connected with SB Nation

A holding penalty for Giants offensive lineman David Diehl ended the Giants' second possession of the game. Atlanta got the ball back on their own 21-yard line after the punt went out of bounds.

Chased from the pocket, soaked in crowd noise, Matt Ryan hit Julio Jones for a three-yard gain. New York brought the blitz on second down, and Ryan could connect with Roddy White on what would have been a first down, Atlanta's first, first down of the game. Facing another third-and-long, Ryan fired a quick pass to running back Jacquizz Rodgers on a short crossing pattern, but it fell incomplete.

Two drives, two three-and-outs for a Falcons' offense that will be doing what they can to settle down in between drives.
