Falcons Vs. Giants: Atlanta Offense Has No Answers

Stay connected with SB Nation

At the start of their fifth drive, the Falcons had 90 yards of offense. Their only points on the board came from the Falcons' defense, who picked up two points on a safety early in the second quarter. New York found some room on the ground, and they broke the defensive stalemate with a Hakeem Nicks touchdown.

Would the Falcons offense be able to answer with some points of their own?

Their attempt got off to an auspicious start when Tyson Clabo got a false start flag. Backed up, the Giants got pass rushers through from all points, and Rocky Bernard sacked Ryan for a seven yard loss, setting up a third-and-long, third-and-longest as the Falcons needed 21 yards to pick up the first down.

Julio Jones almost did it, improbably. He caught a short pass, and picked up oodles of yards after the catch for an 18-yard gain.

With the first half almost over, the Falcons' offense needs desperately to find some answers before things get out of control.
