Falcons Vs. Giants: Atlanta Offense Shut Out Through The First Half

Stay connected with SB Nation

In five-point hole, Atlanta got the ball back on their 20-yard line with barely over a minute left to play. Matt Ryan fired a shot at Roddy White, but Corey Webster pushed ball out of his hands for an incomplete pass. On second-and-ten, Tony Gonzalez caught his first pass of the game, a ten-yard gain.

On the next set of downs, Ryan hit Roddy White on the right side for a three-yard gain. Then the quarterback, chased out of the pocket again, scrambled for another three yards, ending it with an awkward slide. Gonzalez converted again with a nine-yard catch.

Four seconds left on the clock, Atlanta had one more play, one last shot in the half to get some points. Ryan threw it up, way up, to mass of bodies gathered outside the end zone. It was intended for Eric Weems, but a blue shirt batted it down.

Atlanta's offense headed to the locker room with a total of 127 yards and seven first downs, but no points other than tw from a safety.

Matt Ryan has completed 13 of 19 passes for 98 yards. Julio Jones leads the team with four catches and 49 yards. On the ground, Michael Turner has 10 carries for just 27 yards.
