The 49ers shutout the Jets 34-0 and San Francisco fans relished the dominating performance.
The San Francisco 49ers are off to a 3-1 start this season and their 34-0 road win against the New York Jets may have been their most impressive performance yet.
The 49ers controlled the game on offense and defense, outgaining the Jets by 234 yards. David Fucillo of Niners Nation summed up the performance by saying the 49ers "destroyed" the Jets on Sunday. The 49ers offense got off to a bit of a slow start, but as Fucillo noted, they were once again led by their strong running game.
While it was apparent throughout that the 49ers should have probably put up 40+ points, it was a solid win nonetheless. The offense struggled at times to get going in the first half, but they seemed to get things in gear in the second half. The key once again was the rushing game. Although Frank Gore only managed 62 yards, the team effort was ridiculous, averaging 5.6 yards per carry to net 245 total rushing yards.
The 49ers were coming off their first loss of the season. A dominating 34-0 road win is not a bad way to get back on track.
