Chicago Bears running back Matt Forte will start against the Dallas Cowboys on Monday night after sitting out last week's game against the St. Louis Rams with a high ankle sprain, as ESPN Chicago reports. Forte was initially labeled a game-time decision, but the Bears' coaching staff apparently likes what it saw during pregame warmups.
After playing well during the Bears' season opener, Forte suffered the ankle injury against the Green Bay Packers on Sept. 13. He's been out of the lineup since leaving that game, sitting out of Chicago's 23-6 victory over the St. Louis Rams last week.
Michael Bush has played fairly well in Forte's place over the past week-plus, but the Bears are surely pleased to have their starting running back in the lineup. Over the first two games of the season, Forte carried the ball 23 times for 111 yards with one touchdown, plus he caught seven passes for 89 yards.
