The team is expected to make the announcement on Thursday.
The NFL and the Jacksonville Jaguars are expected to announce sometime on Thursday that the opponent for the Jaguars first game in their London series will be the San Francisco 49ers. Jaguars owner Shad Khan has already confirmed that the team will play the 49ers in London next season.
The game will take place on October 27 next year, according to other reports. It will be played at Wembley Stadium.
Earlier this year the Jaguars announced that they would play four games in London -- one a year from 2013-16. The 49ers have already played one game in London -- against the Broncos in 2010 -- so they're familiar with the process. Not only have the 49ers played a game in London, they have also played the Cardinals in Mexico.
This will count as a "home" game for the Jaguars so based on their schedule the options for the game were were: Texans, Colts, Titans, Chargers, Chiefs, Cardinals, and 49ers. Divisional games weren't likely to be moved to London so that left the Chargers, Chiefs, Cardinals and 49ers as the likely options.
