Thomas J. Russo-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire
Cecil Shorts will start at wide receiver for the Jaguars ahead of Mike Thomas in place of the injured Laurent Robinson. We break down the fantasy implications.
Cecil Shorts will start at wide receiver for the Jacksonville Jaguars ahead of Mike Thomas in place of the injured Laurent Robinson when the Jags return to action off a Week 6 bye. Shorts will be the team's No. 2 wide receiver, playing opposite of rookie Justin Blackmon, according to the Florida Times-Union.
Fantasy Impact: Thomas started last weekend against the Chicago Bears, but managed just four catches for 15 yards. Shorts caught two passes for 43 yards, and has been the bigger playmaker this season overall. He has caught three of the Jags' four biggest pass plays on the year: Touchdowns of 39 and 80 yards, and 34-yard reception last week. You should leave Shorts on waivers for now, but he is worth watching to see if he can turn his penchant for big plays into consistent weekly production.
