Seattle Seahawks coach Pete Caroll says that the team remains committed to quarterback Russell Wilson even with Matt Flynn now healthy enough to play. We break down the fantasy implications.
Seattle Seahawks rookie Russell Wilson remains the team's starting quarterback even though Matt Flynn is now healthy enough to play, coach Pete Carroll said. Carroll told WEEI-AM in Boston (via sportsradiointerviews.com) that Flynn is ready to play but Wilson "needs every snap." Carroll admitted earlier this season that Flynn couldn't practice because of sore elbow but now says Flynn has done will in practice when he's had the chance. The Seahawks face the New England Patriots on Sunday.
Fantasy Impact: Wilson may be the starter for Seattle but he shouldn't be in any fantasy lineups. He has thrown for more than 200 yards just once this season and doesn't figure to have much luck in Week 6 against the Patriots. There have been some who want to see Flynn but it doesn't sound like he's going to get his chance anytime soon. Neither player has much fantasy value at this point.
