Thanks to fantasy football, NFL fans in Nashville and beyond are familiar with Chris Johnson's struggles. The Titans have played five games going into Thursday's game against the Steelers, and Johnson has run for 24 yards or less in four of them. That this season and his disappointing 2011 happened after he signed a $53.5 million extension, many have deemed the former CJ2K the most overpaid player in the NFL.
Ohhh, he's not even close. Johnson might make more than his production indicates, but he actually gets on the field and plays. There are plenty of guys in the league who make six-figures while no one even expects them to contribute -- backup quarterbacks.
So here's the "Bomani & Jones" list of the most overpaid players in the NFL. Here's a hint for No. 1 -- after getting $10 million guaranteed, he hasn't played a down all year. Now that is a man who should wear a mask on payday.
