The Patriots might be favored by oddsmakers, but a handful of NFL experts are picking the Seahawks to upset them in Seattle on Sunday.
The New England Patriots are 3.5-point favorites heading into their Week 6 game against the Seattle Seahawks, but that's not keeping a few NFL Experts from picking Seattle in an upset.
Sports Illustrated's Peter King is one of those experts calling a Seahawks win on Sunday. He picks Seattle to topple the Patriots, 27-24.
Mike Silver of Yahoo! is also picking the Seahawks, while his fellow experts (Jason Cole and Les Carpenter) are siding with the Patriots.
ESPN's stable of experts is leaning primarily in favor of New England, with Chris Mortensen and Keyshawn Johnson being the only two of the 12 to pick Seattle in an upset.
SB Nation's own NFL expert, Joel Thorman, is siding with the Patriots. He predicts a 27-17 final score, and says:
A better match-up than you'd think. Seattle's defense, if you didn't know, is one of the best in the league this year, ranking second in the NFL and giving up only 14 points per game. The Patriots are the No. 1 offense in the NFL, scoring 33 points per game. So what happens when one of the best offenses meets one of the best defenses? Bet on offense.
Kickoff is scheduled for 4:05 p.m. ET at CenturyLink Field, and the game will be televised on CBS.
