Wes Welker and Julian Edelman are listed as questionable for Week 6 on the New England Patriots' injury report released Friday. We break down the fantasy implications.
Wes Welker and Julian Edelman are listed as questionable for Sunday's game between the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks on the Pats' injury report released Friday. Both players were limited participants in practice throughout the week.
Welker, who has yet to miss a game this season, is reportedly dealing with an ankle injury. Edelman has missed the Pats' last two games with a hand injury.
Fantasy Impact: It would be a surprise to see Welker sit against the Seahawks. He downplayed having a serious injury when he was questioned by reporters Thursday. Edelman is much less likely to see the field. His return to practice Thursday was the first time he practiced with the team since suffering the injury in Week 3.
Welker remains a safe weekly starting option in standard fantasy leagues. Edelman was leeching snaps from Welker before hurting his hand, but he has yet to turn increased playing time into worthwhile fantasy production. Leave him on waivers until he is healthy and can prove that he has a real role within the Patriots' offense.
