Daniel Thomas has been ruled out for the Miami Dolphins' Week 6 game against the St. Louis Rams, according to Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald. Thomas was held out of practice this past week due to a concussion suffered against the Cincinnati Bengals.
With Thomas out, rookie running back Lamar Miller is expected to assume the top backup spot behind Reggie Bush on the depth chart.
Fantasy Impact: Bush is listed as probable for the game despite a knee injury after practicing fully Friday, so Thomas would not have seen many carries anyway. Still, what few spare touches he would have had will now go to Miller, who has been challenging Thomas for his spot on the depth chart since training camp.
Thomas and Miller are not reliable starting fantasy options in standard fantasy leagues. They are worth owning as potential handcuffs to Bush, though going forward it is difficult to tell which is the better option to own. This week, however, Miller is the better option.
