Denny Medley-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire
Brady Quinn will start for the injured Matt Cassel. We break down the fantasy implications.
Matt Cassel (concussion) missed practice all week and he will not play against the Buccaneers. Brady Quinn will be the starting quarterback for the early afternoon matchup.
The Chiefs and their run-first mentality has kept Cassel quiet to this point with only 1,150 passing yards, five TDs and nine interceptions. Those totals combined with his 58.5 completion percentage on 176 attempts give him only a 66.5 passer rating.
Fantasy Impact: Cassel had some promise during draft season with a solid preseason, but his fantasy value pretty much bottoms out with the inactive tag. Arrowhead Stadium had some cheers with Cassel going down, so it's more than apparent that he hasn't lived up the billing.
Brady Quinn steps in and will have a nice matchup against a 32nd-ranked Tampa Bay pass D. He's still too risky to start this week since Kansas City will likely run the ball a ton.
