Alex Smith is probable to face the Giants. We break down the fantasy implications.
Alex Smith (right finger) practiced in a full capacity all week and he is probable to face the Giants. He'll start the game at a 4:25 pm EDT kickoff.
Smith has a league-leading 108.7 passer rating this season. His pristine total is due to a eight TDs to one intereception and a completion percentage of 68.6 percent.
Fantasy Impact: It's been a while since we've talked about Alex Smith. Alex "Tiny Hands" Smith had questions about his hands as he headed into the NFL Draft. But I digress. Smith has been effective this year and the hand injury shouldn't be an issue.
The Giants have a banged up secondary and Corey Webster is one of the most burned CBs in the NFL this season. He won't offer much of an upside since the 49ers are likely going to run the ball more than pass. He's a low-end QB1 for owners that need help on the bye week.
