Ryan Mathews Injury Update: He must be in all fantasy lineups

Derick E. Hingle-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

Ryan Mathews is probable. We break down the fantasy implications.

Ryan Mathews (ankle) practiced all week in a full capacity and he is listed as questionable against the Broncos. He will start the Monday Night Football game against the divisional rivals.

Mathews is coming off a big day against the Saints with 80 yards on the ground, 59 yards in the passing game and a TD. His season totals come to 185 rushing yards and 112 receiving yards.

Fantasy Impact: Mathews still hasn't quite hit his stride with the injury to his clavicle in the preseason. The Chargers have also started Jackie Battle this season. Norv Turner finally came to his senses and realized that Mathews is one of the most talented backs in the NFL. His ankle injury should be no concern to fantasy owners.

The Patriots ran the ball over 50 times against the Broncos on Sunday, so the Chargers are likely going to follow suite. Mathews is a top-five back this week and he needs to be in every fantasy lineup.
