Michael Crabtree is hot and cold, remains a fantasy conundrum

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Michael Crabtree was limited in Week 6. We break down the fantasy implications.

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Michael Crabtree was limited against the New York Giants on Sunday. The Niners No. 1 wide receiver only made 3 grabs for 26 yards in Week 6. He was also held out of the end zone by the Giants. Crabtree was coming off a big game against the Buffalo Bills, but disappeared once again this week.

When it comes to Crabtree, consistency has been a major issue. His potential is so high, but it's hard to be wowed by Crabtree when he cannot put together back-to-back performances to help his team.

Fantasy Analysis: Michael Crabtree would be an appealing option for a lot of people. The 49ers have an efficient offense most days, and Crabtree is one of their consistent full-time players, sitting comfortably at the receiver spot. However, he does not bring that dynamism that you'd like in a fantasy receiver.

Crabtree would be good in PPR leagues, but once again, consistency is an issue. Crabtree should be owned in a majority of leagues, but he is not a week-to-week must-start. Feel free to play the match-ups with the 49ers receiver.
