The Washington Redskins got another big-game performance from Robert Griffin III, who again led the team to a win, this time throwing for 182 yards and running for 138 more in a 38-26 win over the Minnesota Vikings.
The Redskins struggled early, allowing Minnesota to kick three field goals before getting on the scoreboard. They also struggled late, allowing a pair of Vikings touchdowns to cut a 31-12 lead to a five-point deficit. But it was their work in between that made the difference: Washington ran off 24 unanswered points, with RG3 throwing for one touchdown and running for another, and with Madieu Williams picking off Christian Ponder for a touchdown as well. But what put the nail in the coffin was another spectacular play from the Redskins' rookie quarterback, as described by Kevin Ewoldt of Hogs Haven in his postgame recap:
When the Vikings were up 9-0, I'm sure many thought like I did, "Same ole Redskins." When the Redskins took a big lead late and the Vikings started creeping back, I was still in my Nationals somber, "No way the Redskins hold this lead." And then it happened. It was the first home win for Washington in more than a calendar year. The Skins' next game is with the division-leading New York Giants.
