Lardarius Webb injury: MRI confirms torn ACL

An MRI confirmed that the injury Lardarius Webb suffered Sunday was a torn ACL that will end his season.

Lardarius Webb will miss the rest of the season, as the Baltimore Sun reported the Ravens' star cornerback has a torn ACL after a Monday MRI.

Webb tore his left ACL, not the one he tore in his right knee as a rookie in 2009. He grabbed the knee immediately after suffering the injury, which was diagnosed quickly as an ACL tear, but the test was needed to confirm the initial diagnosis.

The fourth-year player out of Nicholls State signed a six-year, $50 million contract in April, and had an interception, six passes defended and a forced fumble thus far in 2012. He was replaced immediately by Jimmy Smith at his corner slot, and Smith is expected to continue starting for the time being.

Ray Lewis is also scheduled to undergo an MRI Monday to take a look at what is suspected to be a torn triceps. That injury would also end Lewis' season.
