Jonathan Vilma should see some playing time against the Bucs this weekend.
New Orleans Saints linebacker Jonathan Vilma is expected to make his season debut on Sunday. Vilma has been fighting a suspension that came as a result of the Saints bounty case, and with his suspension currently under appeal, he is eligible to play.
While there has been no official announcement from the team, indications are that Vilma will be added to the active roster and play 20 or 30 snaps on Sunday. He has been practicing with the Saints since Wednesday.
Vilma was initially suspended for the entire 2012 season for his alleged role in the bounty scandal. In September, he won an appeal to have the suspension vacated, but the NFL reinstated the penalty in this month.
The Saints are headed to Tampa Bay to face the Buccaneers in Week 7. New Orleans is just 1-4 this season, but the team is coming off its first win, which came against the San Diego Chargers in Week 5.
