Bears vs. Cowboys, Week 4: Chicago defense was 'the real story' in victory

Stay connected with SB Nation

The Bears' defense was "the real story" of Monday's game against the Dallas Cowboys for Steven Schweickert of Windy City Gridiron.

Chicago forced five interceptions from Dallas quarterback Tony Romo, and held running back DeMarco Murray to just 2.2 yards per carry.

The Bears managed to return two of those interceptions back for touchdowns. But the defensive line deserves some credit, too. Says Schweickert,

"The defensive line overall was pretty damn good. Corey Wootton had some nice penetration when he was in, and Amobi Okoye got in solidly when he was able to get into the game."

Finally, Jay Cutler did exactly what he needed to do to get the Bears a victory. He completed 75 percent of his passes, and avoided throwing an interception for the first time this season. For Schweickert, it was a simple formula: "he hit his windows, gave his receivers plays, and didn't take too many unnecessary risks."
