Jaguars vs. Raiders final score: Jacksonville squanders lead, loses in OT, 26-23

Cary Emondson-US PRESSWIRE

The Jaguars weren't able to produce much offense with Blaine Gabbert and Maurice Jones-Drew departing with injuries as the fell to they Raiders 26-23 in overtime.

The Jacksonville Jaguars lost Maurice Jones-Drew (left foot) and Blaine Gabbert (left shoulder) to injuries and eventually their comfortable lead as well with the Oakland Raiders mounting an impressive comeback for a 26-23 overtime win.

Jones-Drew left the game after only his second carry after tweaking something in his foot and was eventually carted to the locker room for further examination. Despite losing their most important player though, the Jaguars' offense had some early success with Gabbert finding the speedy Cecil Shorts for a 42-yard touchdown on their third drive.

Gabbert took a vicious shot from DT Tommy Kelly on Jacksonville's next drive but was able to play through it, helping set up a Rashad Jennings touchdown from five yards out. The young quarterback would stay in for one more possession before giving way to Chad Henne to finish the game.

And Henne wouldn't have much success holding on to Jacksonville's two touchdown halftime lead, electing to check down most of the time while going 8-of-19 with 63 yards on the day.

With the Jaguars offense not doing much, the Raiders quietly mounted a comeback. Down a touchdown with 6:31 remaining, Oakland moved the ball to Jacksonville's 25 before being stuck with a fourth-and-10. After spending their last timeout to decide to go for it, the Raiders were assisted by an blatant pass interference call by CB Aaron Ross in the end zone. Palmer then proceeded to pound the ball in on a quarterback sneak to tie the game at 23.

With Sebastian Janikowski coming up just short on a 64-yard field goal at the end of regulation, the game went into overtime and the Jaguars won the toss. But on the third snap of extra play, Shorts coughed up a backbreaking fumble to give the Raiders the ball on Jacksonville's 21. And this time, Seabass wouldn't miss as the rocket-legged kicker easily drained a 40-yarder to give Oakland their second win of the season.

Fantasy Studs & Duds: Not a lot to be excited here fantasy wise as it was an ugly game all around. Shorts had 81 yards and TD but did lose two fantasy points on a fumble. Denarius Moore had a decent game with 36 yards and a TD but Darren McFadden continued to frustrate his owners with just 81 total yards on 23 touches.

Did They Cover?: The Raiders were six-point favorites so they came up just a bit short.

Injury Update: The most notable injuries here were already mentioned with Gabbert (left shoulder) and Jones-Drew (left foot) both getting permanently knocked out of the game very early on. The Raiders didn't suffer any losses.

What's Up Next?: The Jaguars road trip will be taken up a notch when they head to Green Bay next Sunday. As for the Raiders, they'll be facing a familiar foe in the form of the Kansas City Chiefs in Arrowhead.
