The Detroit Lions have lost Nate Burleson for the remainder of the regular season after suffering a broken leg against the Chicago Bears.

The Detroit Lions received terrible news after their loss to the Chicago Bears when they learned that wide receiver Nate Burleson broke his leg. Burleson will miss the rest of the regular season, reports head coach Jim Schwartz.

Burleson made a 16-yard reception in the third quarter of tonight's game against the Bears, but got injured as he was tackled. Burleson was helped off the field and tended to by trainers before heading to the locker room, where the Lions later learned that his season was over.

Burleson has caught 26 receptions for 224 yards and two touchdowns this year. So far throughout his NFL career, Burleson has managed to haul in 417 catches for 5,153 yards and 38 touchdowns; he has been with the Lions since signing a five year deal with Detroit in 2012. Ryan Broyles figures to replace Burleson in the rotation; he did manage to catch three passes for 51 yards against the Bears.
