Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Blaine Gabbert plans to play through his injury, unless team doctors prevent him from playing.
Jacksonville Jaguars starting quarterback Blaine Gabbert has a torn labrum in his non-throwing shoulder. Despite the injury, Gabbert wants to play on Sunday when the Jags take on the Green Bay Packers -- and plans to, unless team doctors prevent him from playing.
Gabbert suffered the injury during Jacksonville's Week 7 loss to the Oakland Raiders. Gabbert was injured in the second quarter, after taking a hit from Oakland defensive tackle Tommy Kelly.
Jacksonville also lost starting running back Maurice Jones-Drew to injury in Sunday's loss. Luckily for the Jags, Jones-Drew avoided a season-ending injury.
Through Jacksonville's first six games, Gabbert has completed 88-of-158 passes for 906 yards. Gabbert has thrown six touchdowns, against just three interceptions.
If Gabbert is unable to play on Sunday, Chad Henne will start for Jacksonville. Henne completed just 9-of-20 passes for 71 yards in relief of Gabbert on Sunday, and did not throw a touchdown or an interception.
