Slightly over half of the experts predict the Philadelphia Eagles will hand the Atlanta Falcons their first loss of the season on Sunday.
The Philadelphia Eagles have never lost coming off a bye week under Andy Reid, but to continue that streak they face a tall task as they host the undefeated Atlanta Falcons on Sunday.
Andy Reid is 13-0 coming out of the bye with the Eagles, and Philadelphia needs a win to stay above .500 on the season. The Eagles fired defensive coordinator Juan Castillo during their bye and hope Todd Bowles can right the ship in his place. Meanwhile, the Falcons have yet to lose this season but are coming off three straight one possession victories.
The experts are close to split on the game, but more than half believe the Eagles will continue their streak of post-bye week victories.
At ESPN, six of nine experts who had made selections at the time of this post (Eric Allen, Merril Hoge, and Ron Jaworski had yet to pick) sided with the Eagles as compared to only three for the Falcons. Things were an even split at CBS, with four experts picking Philadelphia and four picking Atlanta. At Yahoo!, Les Carpenter selected the Falcons, but both Jason Cole and Mike Silver went with the Eagles.
Overall that makes 12 out of 20 experts, or 60% who picked the Eagles as compared to only 40% for the undefeated Falcons.
