Fletcher missed practice on Wednesday because of "balance issues," which is a symptom of a concussion.
Even though Fletcher hasn't practiced this week and visited with a neurologist, Redskins' head coach Mike Shanahan hasn't ruled the linebacker out yet, saying that "if he's able to go, he'll go."
In addition to a potential head injury, Fletcher also injured his hamstring during Washington's Week 7 loss to the New York Giants. Fletcher strained his right hamstring during the third quarter, and did not return to the game.
Fletcher has appeared in 231 consecutive games in the NFL, a streak that began in 1998 when Fletcher was a member of the St. Louis Rams. Fletcher has also played with the Buffalo Bills (2002-06) in addition to the Rams and Redskins.
Fletcher's status for Sunday certainly hinges on the advice of his neurologist.
