Most pundits think San Francisco will come out victorious on Monday night.
Week 8's Monday Night Football battle will pit two NFC West foes against each other. The San Francisco 49ers are 5-2 this season, while the Arizona Cardinals are 4-3 after winning their first four games.
Many experts around the country have released their picks for Week 8. At ESPN, all 12 of their writers and analysts believe the 49ers will win. Their computer simulation of the game also has San Francisco winning.
Mike Silver, Jason Cole and Les Carpenter, all from Yahoo! Sports, have the Niners winning as well on Monday night. Yahoo! users also like San Francisco to win. As for the pundits at CBS Sports, they tend to lean in Arizona's favor. Five of them like the Cardinals to come out victorious, while three others like the 49ers.
Vinny Iyer of The Sporting News thinks San Francisco's defense will dominate Arizona's depleted offensive line:
The Niners' pass rush will become a gold rush, with John Skelton hitting the deck often as usual. The Cardinals' defense against Alex Smith will allow them to hang around early but once Frank Gore plays closer in the second half, it will be tee-off time on Skelton. Prediction: 49ers 24, Cardinals 13.
