Seahawks vs Lions: Flags fly free as Detroit gives Seattle a 3-0 lead

Detroit is going to find a way to lose this game ugly, aren't they?

Detroit did a good thing when they forced the Seahawks to punt from midfield early in the first quarter, but they followed that up with a bad thing, as the Lions are wont to do. With Jon Ryan punting from the Detroit 49-yard line, Willie Young was given a 5-yard penalty for illegal encroachment, which was just enough to give the Seahawks a first down.

Russell Wilson helped drive the Seahawks down the field to set up for a Steven Hauschka 23-yard field goal and give Seattle a 3-0 lead in Detroit. Overall, the Lions had three penalties for 15 yards and another declined because there were two Detroit penalties on the same play.

Currently, the Lions are now on pace for "All of the penalties," which would be an NFL record. One thing we know for sure about Detroit this year is that when they lose, they do it in style. So far this game seems about right.
