Miami Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill suffered a hyperextended knee and a deep thigh bruise during the team's 30-9 win over the New York Jets, according to a tweet from Ben Volin of the Palm Beach Post. It's not known at this point whether he will miss any games for the Dolphins.
Tannehill was hurt in the first quarter, when he was sacked by Jets linebacker Calvin Pace. Matt Moore stepped in for Tannehill and guided the team to a win, going 11-19 for 131 yards and a touchdown. Tannehill finished the game 2-5 for 18 yards.
Tannehill was a first round draft pick this past year out of Texas A&M, and has overcome questions about his readiness for the NFL with a surprisingly good rookie campaign thus far. Through six games, he has a line of 118-198 for 1,454 yards, four touchdowns and six interceptions. He also has a rushing touchdown to his credit.
