After having wrist surgery during the bye week, Mario Williams is confident he will be back on the field when the Buffalo Bills take on his former team, the Houston Texans.

Buffalo Bills defensive end Mario Williams reportedly expects to play on Sunday despite having surgery on his injured left wrist during the team's bye week.

According to Tim Graham of the Buffalo News, Williams said on Monday that his wrist was already feeling improved. He also said that the only way he wouldn't play this weekend in Houston would be in the unlikely scenario that the incision from the surgery re-opened.

Williams was out of the lineup in Week 7 for the Bills' 35-34 loss to the Tennessee Titans before having surgery during the Week 8 bye.

Williams expects to return to action in Week 9 when the Bills will take on his former team, the Houston Texans. The two-time Pro Bowler spent the first six seasons of his career with the Texans, who are 6-1 so far this season.

In his first season with Buffalo (3-4), Williams has 16 tackles and 3.5 sacks thus far in 2012.
