Tight end Todd Heap is inactive for Arizona, while running back Brandon Jacobs is a scratch for the 49ers on Monday Night Football.

The San Francisco 49ers will once again be without running back Brandon Jacobs, as he continues to recover from a knee injury he suffered in the preseason, while Arizona Cardinals tight end Todd Heap is also out for the Monday Night Football contest due to a knee injury of his own.

Though Heap and Jacobs are the most prominent players from the game's inactive list, there are plenty more key players missing on both sides as the two division rivals will be fighting for first place, after the Seattle Seahawks fell to the Detroit Lions at Ford Field.

For Arizona, quarterback Kevin Kolb, who suffered a rib injury after earning back the role as starter, will miss another game. Rookies LaMichael James and A.J. Jenkins will not suit up for San Francisco as they have yet to make an impact on a talent-laden roster.

The remaining inactives for the Week 8 game on Monday night are as follows:

San Francisco 49ers:

Joe Looney G
Trenton Robinson FS
Scott Tolzien QB
Ian Williams NT

Arizona Cardinals:

LaRon Byrd WR
Senio Kelemete G
Adam Snyder G
Greg Toler CB
Jamaal Westerman LB
