Jim O'Connor-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire
The Browns continue to "Browns" themselves after taking early 14-0 lead in New York.
Taking advantage of a very early Ahmad Bradshaw fumble, the Browns found themselves up 14-0 over the Giants on the road after a Trent Richardson touchdown and a 62-yard scoring strike to Josh Gordon. Would the rookies rule the day? Well not quite because after awhile, Cleveland realized that they were Cleveland and that's the kind of self-awareness that Browns fans can't look forward to.
After a Brandon Weeden interception and a Josh Cribbs fumble on a kickoff return, the Browns quickly saw their 17-3 lead turn into a 24-17 deficit after Victor Cruz scored his second touchdown of the day with 1:10 left in the half.
Cleveland fell so badly for the play action on the second Cruz score that half of their defense was spotted somewhere on the New Jersey turnpike. (Obvious New York/New Jersey joke that I have no regrets about.)
For the Browns to have success in the second half, they'll have to forget again that they're the 0-4 Browns.
