Packers Vs. Colts: Andrew Luck can appreciate Reggie Wayne

For years it was a common sight in Indianapolis to see Peyton Manning and Reggie Wayne pairing up for big days. While the man throwing the ball may have changed, Wayne's ability to be an elite NFL receiver remains, typified by a huge 13 reception, 213 yard day.

Colts' fans have to be thrilled with how rookie quarterback Andrew Luck has progressed this season. At times he has looked shaky, but despite being battered all day he never became gun shy, and continued to stand tall in the pocket.

In this play Clay Matthews was literally draped on him, Luck showed a veteran like ability to keep his eyes down field, shrug off the pressure and still deliver this strike to Reggie Wayne.

Where Wayne is helping his rookie QB the most is how he's adjusting to errant passes. Rookie QBs are inaccurate by nature, at least when held in contrast to their college numbers. It takes time for them to adapt, and those who are able to make the leap are few and far between. In the meanwhile it's catches like this, that makes life easier for Andrew Luck.

It's a career day for Reggie Wayne, and now he and Andrew Luck have written the first chapter in a new era of Colts' football.
