The Washington Redskins suffered a loss on Sunday when Robert Griffin III was knocked out of Sunday's tilt with a mild concussion.

On a Sunday that saw the NFC East teams lose two of their three games, the Washington Redskins sustained the biggest injury when Robert Griffin III was forced to leave with a concussion.

Griffin was hit hard in the middle of the third quarter against the Atlanta Falcons at FedEx Field and couldn't return due to obvious symptoms.

Head coach Mike Shanahan said it was obvious Griffin was done for the day, according to Yahoo.com:

''He wasn't sure what quarter it was in the third quarter. So at that time, when he wasn't really sure what the score was, what the quarter was, we knew he had a mild concussion -- at least according to the doctors,'' Shanahan said.

The New York Giants also lost a key contributor when running back Andre Brown couldn't continue after suffering a head injury on a special teams play. The severity of the injury isn't known, but Brown did not return against the Cleveland Browns.

While both played the entire contest, both Martellus Bennett and Chris Snee played through a hyper-extended knee and torn hip labrum. Bennett was hurt in the first quarter when he lost his footing.

The Philadelphia Eagles lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers but didn't have any health issues, aside from Bryce Brown (shoulder) and Mychal Kendricks (ankle) who left briefly but returned to play.
