Tennessee Titans quarterback Matt Hasselbeck will start for the team on Thursday night against the Pittsburgh Steelers. When is Jake Locker expected back in the lineup?
Tennessee Titans quarterback Matt Hasselbeck will start in Week 6 against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday night. Fellow quarterback Jake Locker is still recovering from dislocating his non-throwing shoulder twice in the first four games and missed Sunday's game against the Minnesota Vikings.
Titans head coach Mike Munchak says that Locker is improving, but according to Jim Wyatt and John Glennon of The Tennessean, he plans to have him back for the Oct. 21 game against the Buffalo Bills:
"Jake is getting better, no doubt about that. The last couple of days he feels a lot better," he said. "We'll hold him and start thinking about the next game."
Hasselbeck went 26-for-43 passing for 200 yards and an interception in Sunday's 30-7 loss to the Vikings. Munchak has acknowledged that playing from behind in most games this season has not helped the man under center:
"We're putting both our quarterbacks under a lot of pressure to perform, and our receivers, because of the games we're getting into," he said. "It makes it hard. You're expecting the guy to carry your team, and you're not going to win many games doing that."
The Titans play the Steelers on Thursday night at LP Field at 8:30 p.m. with television coverage on NFL Network.
